2003 424 Red Wine, Columbia Valley - Stevens Winery
We're proud to announce the inaugural release of our 2003 Columbia Valley Red Wine, "STEVENS424". It's a blend of 55% Cabernet Sauvignon, 25% Merlot, and 20% Cabernet Franc. We named this wine for a plain and simple reason; we are BM-WA-424 (Bonded Winery Washington #424). This red blend reflects our passion to create a wine that has power and strength at the beginning, finesse and balance in the middle, and complexity and length on the finish. We produced 392 cases, our largest bottling to date. The fruit was sourced from some of the best vineyards in the state: Sheridan Vineyard, Dineen Vineyard, Ceil du Cheval Vineyard, and Champoux Vineyard. The wine was aged in 60% new French oak and 40% once used French oak for 21 months to exploit and reveal each vineyard's terroir. The combined influence of both varietal and vineyard make this an elegant blend that truly reflects the best of what Washington wine has to offer.
