Hard Row to Hoe Primitivo 2017 - Hard Row to Hoe Vineyards
Bold and delicious; filled with sweet plum and cherry flavors. Aged in this wine is incredibly smooth and supple. It has an exotic spice finish that goes on forever. Primitivo is the Italian equivalent to California Zinfandel but with an Old World flair. Pair with barbeque, wood-oven pizza, pork tonkatsu, moo shu pork, baked sweet potatoes. 18.5/20 Points. Rand Sealey. Washington Review of Wines. "This clonal Zinfandel (with 14% Petite Sirah) displays a ruby-red color and ripe aromas of raspberry, cherry, plum, orange peel, rosebuds, bayberry, tobacco, oregano and spiced incense. On the palate, the wine brims with ripe red fruits that are intermixed with red licorice, cola, black tea and Wahluke scorched earth. The saturation continues on the back with roasted berries and nuts, mocha, cherry and berry liqueurs and recurring orange peel, followed by a warm (15% alcohol) spicy moderate tannin finish"
