2017 Powers Malbec - Badger Mountain Organic Winery
With varied harvest dates starting in late September to early November, we are excited about the complexity of the flavors in this vintage of Malbec. 90% of fermentation was completed in upright stainless steel tanks, while 10% of fermentation was completed in the pump-under method. PDM yeast was used on all components. 100% malolatic fermentation completed in neutral 59-gallon French Oak barrels. The wine was then aged for 16 months in 5% new French oak, 25% 2-year old French oak, 30% 3- year old French oak, and 40% in neutral French oak barrels.
